This worked for me. So I just had to say Thank you very, very much.

I built my 1st wordpress blog on my mac using MAMP and tried to follow the instructions a wordpress.com to move it to its new url on the server where it would be "live" now that it is complete.

Yeah, it didn't work. And I mean nothing worked. Not the site at the new location. Not the old one on my home computer. phpmyadmin wasn't even working.

So I decided I would just try and get everything back the way it was. I found a tip to get phpmyadmin up and running again at another site by changing the httpd.conf in the MAMP app folder. But i still couldn't get the original blog at localhost:8888 to work.

I noticed when I tried to access it, my browser was redirecting to the new url I entered in my setting when trying to move it. The post above's tip got me to the right spot in phpmyadmin.

It didn't work at 1st because I had to make the change to both the spots I changed in wp-admin (id 2 & id 39) and enter the "correct" old url "exactly": http://localhost:8888. But then, bang, it was right back the way it was.

Its 2 am and thank you so much! Now I can go to sleep, knowing everything's back the way it was.
